2025 Score Table Offical of the Year
AJ Reedy
This person first started playing basketball in 2020 as a way of socialising with her friends on a Friday night. With exceptional natural talent, she made her first rep team within months. She also started refereeing in 2022, again with talent, by the following year she was officiating at State Champs.
She had an ACL injury in 2024, and re-ruptured in 2025. She required surgery in both cases and this was when she started to score. She completed her Level 2 course in May 2024 and then her Level 3 in January this year. She completed her sign offs in record time and only has her final chair sign off as Level 3. She has recently been selected to the NBL panel – and I believe she would be the youngest scorer to ever achieve this. Her basketball goal was initially to go to college, then to referee in the NBL/WNBL. Now her goal is to be on the FIBA officiating panel for score table for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. This was never even on her radar until earlier this year. If you are unaware of the steps to this – you need to be on a National panel for 5 years before you are nominated to sit for FIBA qualifications – so she is well on her way.
Such a short amount of time for scoring to what she has achieved! I’m amazed at her persistence and resilience, an incredible and multi-talented young woman.
